opinions on Kicker as a company?

thinking about working with kicker on my car. looking for overall company opinions about them. this is the setup we've been talking about.

either 3 05S10L7's or 2 05S12L7's for subs
sx1250.1,sx900x2 and sx900.4 for amps
one set of ssmb8, 2 sets of ssmb6.

any suggestions?

Are you looking for overall company, or overall products?

Overall Company, they are great, I've always gotten great CS, and service with people there; infact one of the VPs was on this MB for a while.

Overall products; they make a reputable product that for many people will serve their need nicely. I will warn you that the S12L7's require some fairly large airspace to perform well, I had a pair in a 1.5cF ea enclosure pushing over 800Wrms to each, and they were loud, but not LOUD, they performed fairly decentely in reproduction quailty, but I've head WAY better as well. I've had good luck with their amplifiers though, I've only had one fail, and it was repaired and returned with no issues and has worked flawlessly since. I've head their drivers/tweeters, and they are a fiarly decent setup for the price.

But like I always say, installation is KEY to any stereo setup.

IMO, if you like LOUD bass go kicker...if you want QUALITY bass go ARC Audio and Diamond Audio. Kicker/Rockford run really high distortion which makes for some loud bass if you want to be heard...if u want to understand the music with bass, id reccomend an arc amp and diamond subs. This combination seems to be the best in fbodies...i was hanging around a stereo shop and another 4th gen came in (around glendale heights, IL) and he had that setup and compared to my rockford/kicker combo (all i could afford as the subs were free from my bros car) his sounded awesome.

For a f-body I would go with the 10's to take advantage of the lack of air space. As for quality of bass its all in how it is installed and tuned. I've sold Kicker products as well as Diamond Audio. The Diamonds are nice but that much better. We had more trouble with Diamond drivers failing that we did with Kicker.

Kicker as a company....
Great customer service, at least my experience.

Bought Kicker 650.4 amp, NOT from an authorized dealer. Had problem with it about 8 months in. Called Kicker support and rep gave me a RMA # and told me they would repair/replace this first time under warranty, but next time I would have to pay. Warranty clearly states 3 months from non-authorized dealer.
No prof of purchase was even necessary.

sounds like you got pretty lucky, good thing it turned out well and they were nice enough to work with you. if you mind me asking where did you get the equipment from? seems they are much cheaper on the net where a full warranty isn't implied.

some of the speakers i've seen prices jump $500 if you look around and same with the amps.

Re: opinions on Kicker as a company?

I bought my amp from a company called cmttrading.com on Ebay. I paid $260 for a 600.4 (2003 model) but they ran out so they sent me a 650.4 (2004 model) instead. They have this model for $299. now.

Re: opinions on Kicker as a company?

was it new in box when you got it? i'm finding alot of places either sell refurbished or they scratch of the serial numbers which the speaker still may be newer but then it isn't new like they claim. so your saying your dealings with them were good then? they don't have much listed on their site but i emailed them anyhow to see what they can get. thank you.

anyone else deal with any other companies?
