one sub sounds better than two

I recently wired up my car and have two infinity 1020w subs. I'm running them on a rockford fosgate 750.

The problem is that when I hook both of them up they sound like crap. One playing sounds better than both playing. I ran them on an MDF board and I think it might be the enclosure and that it needs to be more airtight. I have the stock unit which is monsoon and have no problem with that so i don't think it's the wiring.

Also i need to know where i can place my amp so that it doesn't heat up too much. It is currently under the board. I have the 12 disc cd changer so i can't place it there. I don't want it to be anywhere in plain sight like the rear window. Should i take out my spare tire and possible place it there?

check ur wiring....if u have the subs running out of sync...(one goes up while other goes down) then they will work against eachother... try switching ur negative and positive wires on just one of the subs....that should do the trick.

In sync? You mean out of Phase.

One being wired backwards is the problem 99% of the time.
