no system=draining batt.?

ok right now my battery is draining slowly day by day.i have a brand new batt.alt.and statrer so obviously my electrical system is fine.BUT a week and a half ago i took out my stock head unit, front door speakers and hatch speaker.the wires and their harnesses are just hanging there right now.could any of this be the reason for my slowly but surely gauge dropping.ive noticed the drop ever since the stereo crap came out and for some reason i have a feeling its because of the hatch speaker.i heard someone before said they installed an aftermarket HU and when they shut off the car the hatch speaker drained teh battery.just wanted to get some decent opinions on why my gauge is dropping slowly.

Did you cap the ends of the wires with electrical tape? They could be grazing other components when they're shifting around.

You could try pulling the fuse on the stereo and see if the battery still drains.

If that doesn't work, have a friend measure the draw off of the battery with a multimiter, and start pulling fuses. You will soon find the offending system when the draw drops significantly.

by pulling the fuse on the stereo do you mean on the back of the stock head unit?b/c right now there is no head unit so that cant be the problem.the harness is just hanging there out of the trim.its not wires grazing something because they are all capped off.i think im gonna test my alternator after school to make sure the thing isnt broken(still under warranty).if its not the alternator i ll run the test with a multimeter.do you think it could be a blown fuse in the fuse box??this is really stumping me, i dont know if the drop of power is cuz the stereo being takin out thats just something i did during the time of the drop, but it could of been dropping before that.after i installed all the new electrical stuff the gauge was like 3/4.i reinstalled the rear hatch speaker but nothing better and the day i reinstalled it the gauge got so low it wouldnt start so i had it jumped and it went right back up to half way??ugh

Theres no way an unhooked stereo would draw any power.. Where would it go? Speakers have absolutly no draw on the electrical system. Theres something else somewhere.

yea i know i have no idea how taking out my stock bose system would have any drain on the electrical system.it makes no sense.i checked all the fuses and none are blown.today im checking the alternator, thats the only thing that could cause this problem.im really pissed off because its a new alternator thats not even 2 months old.i dunno we ll see.i ll keep ya updated
