i hooked an amp to my rear speakers and no sound emits. power ground and remote all going in, power light for amp on, rca attached dont know what im missing. + wire to positive - wire to negative.

 

you need a voltmeter and see if there is actually a signal comoing in on the RCA's

 

ok, what readings should i get on the vm? im just learning how to to use the vm so im kinda new on that.

 

Just plug in an ipod to the RCAs on the amp and play the ipod see if you get sound, if not its not the RCAs, unless its the RCAs on the amp (unlikely).

 

Does the amp have a power/volume dial on it??

 

no power/volume dial on it, but now it seams to have died because i am getting now power light on it now, where as before it did have power to it.i had new rca cables to test and when i went to try, i saw that power had gone. checked the amp fuse as well as the inline fuse at the battery, but they looked ok.
