Lightbulb monsoon tape player

i have a 99 camaro ss with the monsoon tape player and cd player in the trunk. My problem is my buttons dont light up anymore. Is there a way to replace the lights in the radio. if it has to be soldered ill just replace the whole unit, but if its just small bulbs I would be willing to replace them. Has anyone done this or have any directins on how to attempt this?

I've heard it's possible. But never seen anyone that has done it. The bulbs are soldered to the circut board and I'm not really sure where you would even get them.

It's a pain sometimes...in some cases, not possible... not sure about our units, but in general with units like that..

Maybe try the Car Audio/Electronic forum?? We have one of those...right?

You might try checking with LED gauges. They'll put in color LED's but its kind of expensive. You might try seeing if they'll just install regular bulbs into the radio.

there are shops that specialize in this, there is one in dearborn michigan called royal radio, they charge a flat $125 to replace the lights, and any other malfunctioning parts
