New amp, use monsoon wiring?
New amp, use monsoon wiring?
question.....say I purchased a new amp for my car. Can I just take out the monsoon amp and put in the new amp and use the existin wiring from the monsoon system? My old Mr2 came with an amp and it was possible to just remove the factory amp, and replace it with a aftermarket amp with great success. I figure the monsoon amp has to have a 12v, ground and turn on wire, so in theory it works, but I'm just wondering if anybod has actually done this. It would alos help keep things hidden.

for a wiring diagram of the amp harness...
Theoretically you could do it and it would definitely work... however I havent seen the gauge of the wiring in there, and especially for a main power line on an aftermarket amp, I would want to use a heavier gauge wire than what is probably in there... Smilarly with speaker wire...
