New amp, use monsoon wiring?

question.....say I purchased a new amp for my car. Can I just take out the monsoon amp and put in the new amp and use the existin wiring from the monsoon system? My old Mr2 came with an amp and it was possible to just remove the factory amp, and replace it with a aftermarket amp with great success. I figure the monsoon amp has to have a 12v, ground and turn on wire, so in theory it works, but I'm just wondering if anybod has actually done this. It would alos help keep things hidden.

Go here:

for a wiring diagram of the amp harness...

Theoretically you could do it and it would definitely work... however I havent seen the gauge of the wiring in there, and especially for a main power line on an aftermarket amp, I would want to use a heavier gauge wire than what is probably in there... Smilarly with speaker wire...

DO NOT use the stock wiring!!! The power is WAYYY too small. Unless.....you have a lot of fire insurance on your car. Running your own wire is not nearly as hard as you might think. Lemme know if you need any help.

Oh I know how to install an amp. I was just wondering if its something I can avoid doing because the wiring is already there. I guess not. Oh well.....good to know.
