Need some help with diagnosing a problem.

Out of the blue yesterday my stereo started cutting out. It does it at any volume. At first it would cut out for a few seconds and come back. Then it sometimes cut out for 2 mins and come back. Went over a speed bump today and it hasn't come on since.

Deck works. Doesn't matter if its CD or Tuner. No sound but deck equalizer display shows music flowing. Its a Kenwood deck.

I have 2 Alpine V12 amps. The subwoofer amp usually shows 14.3 volts on the display but the display is dead and shows nothing at all.

I see 12 volts on the stereo side of the main inline fuse under the hood.

At the amps I only see about 4 volts going into each of them. The remote wire shows about 3 volts.

When I turn the deck off I see 7 volts at the amps and 5 volts at the remote wire.

start with your grounds

when you check voltage at the amps i assume you are reading it against the grounds at the amp, which makes me assume you have a bad ground
