Need Mono Sub Amp recommendations

Well, after losing another bout with the local theives, I need a new sub amp. I'm thinking the alpine V-drive 300 X 1 into 2 ohms to drive my Thunder 3000, which I can get for about 200 bucks. Anyone have any recommendations on a good amp for a decent price. I'd like to stay under 200 bucks, and get right around 300 watts mono. Thanks!

Be sure to check out some class-D subwoofer amps. My MTX 6500D pumps out almost 600W @ 2ohms. It lists for $460 at our local Circuit City. I got mine on eBay (new and unopened) for $250.

I totaly agree with LS1 RULZ. You can get the MTX amps on ebay UNOPENED for almsot 1/2 the price of a store. There is a seller that sells the MTX 81000D for about $360. He must be some kind of retailer cus he has LOTS of them for sale at the same time, ALL the time.

Remember MTX is one of those "cheater" amps. By this I mean that what they rate the amp at is the LOWEST rating they must have before they go to stores for sale, so you might actualy be gettign more that whats listed. They come with a test sheet so you know what it tested out at.

got my orion xtr pro 1000 for 400, it is usualy 980 retial but i found on the net pretty cheap. It puts 1000 at 1 ohm to 12volts and i would say about 1100 ar 14 volts, orion underates them. These are awsome amps, and are found cheap b/c orion almost went out of business b/c the retail on their amps where to high, so they are selling their warehouse, old stuff from 2002. It is a class D and it pushes my L7 solo, pretty damn good. Sounds about like my mustang did with two 12 alpine r's. But i think 1000 watts is to much for that 300. You might look into an xtr 300.2, also udnerrated and is pretty small so it doesnt draw alot of current.
