Need help quick/ no sounds

Im installing a aftermarket cd player. Is there a factory amp hidden someplace. I wired it up and get nothing. Im thinking Im going to have to run new wires to get the job done. Am I right on this one or can I bypass if there is a amp located somewhere I havent look. It is a 97 that had the factory cd changer with tape player. Travis

No amp there just the shock sensor for the alarm. I know it has to be something beacause the wires are different at the speaker connection and at the radio connection it is the stardard GM color code. Anymore ideas. Traivs
