Need help on mild setup.. PLEASE READ
I can't believe how hard it is to find info on putting a better system in an LT1 F-body... but anyway...
Last year I got a Pioneer DEH-750MP HU for my b-day. This summer i want to upgrade all the speakers and stuff so i can install and use the HU in my 95 Z28 that currently has the 5-speaker BOSE junk(rear speaker is blown and there is a constant buzzing sound from all the speakers). I just want a system that sounds clean and crisp and hits pretty hard when turned up. Maybe 6-$700 budget build. I'm going to rip out all the old wires and start with better stuff too. I kinda know what i want to do, just not clear on how to implement the plan.
Speakers:
I know i need 6.5" 4 ohm speakers, but not sure on what to get. Here are two things i've been considering:
Option 1- Just looking for 2-way or 3-way speakers.... Like 3-ways for the doors and 2-ways for the back. (my friends always want to ride in my car, so i'd like for the back to have vocal sound and not just bass). I'll appreciate any suggestions on what brand(s) to get.
Option 2- Getting either 2- or 3-ways for the doors and some good mid-bass speakers for the rear seats. From another thread i see the 4406 and rmb6 have both been discontinued. So any suggestions will be great.
For you guys who are more experienced in this stuff.... would option 1 or 2 be better for overall sound?
Sub:
Single 10" in a stealth box on the driver's side.
Amp(s):
Here's where i really need help.... not sure how to power the speakers. Theoretically speaking, should i just run the front 4 speakers off the HU and get a monoamp for the sub? Or should i get two amps... one for the sub and one for the other speakers? Or what about a single amp that can push everything? I'm lost on this. My HU says MOSFET 50Wx4 but not sure if it'll have enough juice to push the speakers by itself (or do the job without hurting it...i'd hate to blow up a $300+ HU).
Crossover:
Kinda lost here too. Would it even be necessary?
This is just a mild combo i'm looking for... not looking to win competitions or impress anybody, just want better sound and more all-around bass than i have now. I've been searching for months about this but most of the info out there is geared towards the monsoon system or very expensive aftermarket stuff. I will appreciate any help you guys can give me.
Thanks,
Jason

6-700$ budget....
your going to need 2 amps....i'd either go
2 pg tantrum 500.2's $380?
or
HiFonics Nemesis NX400 $320
10" sub... tons of choices with 4-500 watts of power at 4 ohms.
a cheap sub with decent performance is the 10" pg ti's off ebay. $60
up front.. no coaxiles... Crystal CSc60t off sounddomain for $160.
100 sq ft of sound dampaing... $100
wiring $50
for rear fill for your friends... if u must have it... get a cheap pair of coaxiles and run the off the head unit...
i'd look into getting a better sub, with any money you have left to spare....
this is just one of many ways you could go...
