My tweeter pics

Here are a couple of pics where I installed my tweeters... I haven't seen any others put in the same spot so maybe this will give someone another idea... They wouldn't fit in the triangular pieces, I didn't want to mount them in the a-pillars, and definitely not in the dash... I had another set of panels, so I tried them in the top corners of the door panels since it looked fairly flat... If it looked like crap, I could just put my original panels back on... But they fit flush and looked pretty good... The tweeters also swivel in the mount so I can adjust them somewhat... They aren't as apparent as it looks in the pic because of the flash... They are more hidden in the corner... I plan on replacing them soon with some of the same size that are better quality since these are crapos.

Re: My tweeter pics

That could either sound really really good, or really really bad.

I like the idea though. If you used a set of metal tweeters, having them off axis like that would help take the edge off. Also having them reflect off the A pillar may either induce simbilance or create a lot of ambience.

Could go either way, but I'm interested in the results.

You know it is hard to say. I've never seen tweeters put there befor. Though I would think it would probably sound bad.

Re: My tweeter pics

That was my first thought, but we did some tweeters off axis like that on the dash of a PT Cruiser convertible because the guy didn't want his door panels cut and wanted a stealthy install.

I warned him it might sound bad, but in the end, it actually sounded quite good. It took some of the edge off the tweeters we used.

Actually it does sound good... If they were stationary, I wouldn't have installed them in that spot.. But I can aim them at me, back at the a-pillar, or any area in between... Also seems the pocket it makes when the door is closed, effects the sound.. I can put my hand over that area and notice the difference in the overall sound of the stereo... The rest of the stereo doesn't drown them out because of their location.
