Just as title says. I have a optioned out 95. Came with the bose 4 spkr and sub. Since than I have ripped that junk out. I have a custom box with a 10 inch sub that sit above the gas tank. The rest of the car has 5 or 6 inch alpine type s speakers. No amp.
I want more, so im thinking of mounting to 6x9's where they are in the 10 speaker monsoon setups. Amping them up and the 2 rear alpines is my plan.

has anyone done this?
Any tips? Ive search around with little luck.

 

Don't do it... Spend the $$ on an amp for the 6.5" speakers in the doors/sails; or just upgrade them. That'll make it sound a LOT better and louder than just adding more speakers.

6x9s not only sound like crap, installing them the way you are saying is just going to cause more issues than make the stereo better.
