Mount you detachable face anywhere!

I read an article the other day on how to do this, and my buddy at work was willing to sacrifice his head unit to try it out. What you need to do is get a ribbon type wire (found in your computer) and solder the wires on the connections on the back of the face and do the same thing with the other set of wires to the front of the head unit. If you have a long enough ribbon wire you can put your face anywhere! We mounted his radio behind his glove box and mounted the face where his ashtray was. Its a pretty sweet little trick. And it worked too!

Sorry man, i dont have a digital camera. Ive seen it done one other place. In an old episode of Cribs on MTV, one of Shaq's Esclades had the face of a pioneer mounted in his overhead console.

it can be cool... but the hard thing is loading and unloading CDs... but even that depends on what HU you're talking about, the full-face ones it's kinda cool.

Heck, I've seen the faceplates mounted in the rearview mirror before.. although mine bounces all over the place with my speakers...

He also had a CD changer, so he doesnt have a problem loading the cds. We also mounted his tv screen where his radio and the pocket were.
