Monsoon vs. regular Camaro CD player

Will a normal Camaro CD player work in place of a "Monsoon" labeled CD player? I assume yes. This is for a 2000 SS I'm buying...the system is all aftermarket, but I want to replace the old Kenwood HU with a factory Chevy one with a 3.5mm jack added.

I've found several on eBay, but none have the Monsoon label. They will still work with the steering wheel controls and such, correct? I don't see why not. I will be using line level converters for the RCA connections and such...thanks to anyone who can help!

Re: Monsoon vs. regular Camaro CD player

I want to say that I've seen people say no, though I've never owned a Monsoon radio car. Hopefully someone more familiar can post up a more definitive issue.
