Question Monsoon radio question???

Hello again!

When I bought my Z28 the Monsoon radio was disconnected. Yesterday I had the opportunity to connect all the wires and the speakers. For some reason I can hear the radio. The radio will turn on, but I can't hear anything. I know there are some wrong wire connections that the last owner did. But my question is, there is a small light bulb near the volumen ****, this bulb is suppose to turn on when you turn on the radio? Mine does not turn on. I will appreciate any help on this. Thanks again!

monsoon radio

The monsoon protected against theft.
once it disconected from the battery it locked automatically.
you will need your last owner password, or chevy master password to unlock it.
call your chevy dealer to find out.
it suppose to be 4 digits password

Well, I think the radio is not locked. It turned on, I can change radio stations, the CD player does not work , but the rest of the radio works. What is that small light bulb near the volume ****? I can't hear anything. That means that the radio is locked? Please let me know. Thanks.

Exclamation

I'm not too familiar with the stereo systems, but I've gotten a lot of good info from the Audio-section of this board.

You might want to post your question over there, too.

Good luck!

The light is for the radio's anti-theft system. Once you arm it and select a 4 digit code the light will flash when the car is locked

I am pretty sure that the display shows -LOC- if the theftlock system is tripped by a loss of power. I dont think that is your problem.

i think bsmith is right. check out your owner's manual in the radio section, it will tell you exactly what the display will look like if the stereo is locked out with the 4 digit code.

Your head unit is not locked. It's either wired up wrong, or it is broken.

The light by the volume **** is the theft-loc. I've never enabled mine because (A) who would steal a factory head unit, and (B) if the unit is locked, anyone can call a 1-800 number and get an unlock code ... so the theft-loc is worthless
