Question Monsoon Head Unit vs Pioneer ST IV

Got a 2001 SS...is there a noticeable difference in sound quality between the two. I have the premium sound w/6 spkrs. I'm thinkin of swappin the Monsoon back in and sellin the Pioneer.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Monsoon Head Unit vs Pioneer ST IV

i would really say no even though i don't own a monsoon system. All my friends with the system like it and have no problem with it. I think that it wounds pretty damn good for a stock system. If you want better clarity, get some better speakers. For the amount that you are going to have to put out for a new head unit, i think that you would be happier and the money would be better spent on upgrading your speakers. i couldn't even beleive the difference when i put a new set of componet speakers in the in my doors and it only cost me $50 for some high quality MA audio speaker from a online discount store.

Thanks, I have the ST IV in the car now, but I want to be able to use the cool buttons on the wheel. Also, I'm getting a Sirius, so if the only advantage to the Pioneer ST IV is it's tuning ability, then I'm putting the Monsoon back in. I just want to make sure I'm not giving up a lot of sound quality by going from the Pioneer to the Monsoon.

Appreciate all comments!!!!
