Monsoon with 4 ohm speakers??

In my buddys 97 TA, he blew one of his 6.5 speakers next to the back seat. He has the stock 8 speaker system. When I took the speaker out it had 4 ohms printed on the magnet, I thought that these systems used a 2 ohm speaker. If his speakers are 4 oms, he should be fine going with a set of aftermarket speakers right?

I don't think the 97's had the POS Monsoon did they? That would explain why his woofers were 4ohms instead of 2ohms. Any 4ohm replacement will work fine.

Oh, I was under the impression that all 8 speaker systems were monsoon systems. Would you be able to run all 8 speakers from an aftermarket head unit?
