which mb quart?

i picked up a fosgate 750x. its 93w rms X 4. i am planning on running my 4 6.5" speakers in parallel across the front amp channel and using the rear amp channels to drive a sub. now which speaker do i want to go with?? i am leaning toward the low end mb quart (dke 116) but i was wondering is there an advantage to using the rce 116?? i read many comments about the tweets being very high and loud so i think the lower end would be fine. also which sub should i use?? the amp rear channels are rated at 93 x 2 at 4 ohms so i think i need a dual 4 ohm VC. i dont need super base so i am thinking an 8 should be fine. again i am not looking to shake the rear view mirror on the car next to me. any input on which mb quart's and the same for the sub would be greatly appreciated. i also have a set of infinity kappa's sitting around. should i just stay with those and forget the mb quarts?? thanks.

Re: which mb quart?

You'll have to decide for yourself on which Quarts to use. Speaker selection is just too subjective for anyone but you to make the call on which to go with. To my ears ALL Quarts are very harsh sounding. I find this to be true with all hard domed tweeters. I like the sound of Infinity soft dome tweets but their mid-woofers have very poor mid-bass performance when played loud.

If you bridge the 2 rear channels together for the subwoofer you will need a sub with a 4ohm voice coil. Or a sub with dual 8ohm VC's ran in parallel or dual 2ohm VC's ran in series.

Re: which mb quart?

thanks steve. i still havent hooked up my kappas to a decent amp to hear how they sound. plus another pair of 6.5 infinity's will cost me 50 bucks less than a set of low end quarts. do you get good base out of the single sub in the enclosure you have?? by good i am just looking for solid and tight response. thanks.

If it's tight, accurate bass that you want a single 10" or 12" is all you need. If it's loud boomy bass that can be heard a block away then you'll want 2 or more subs.
