Made a bad mistake...
I just bought some new Rockford Fosgate speakers to replace my Sh*tty rear Pioneer speakers. They mounted differently so i had to readjust my setup. When i was screwing the mounting screws down, MY DUMBASS ACCIDENTALLY STABBED THROUGH ONE OF THE SPEAKER seals (the rubber ring) I was so pissed. I cranked up the volume and tested it compared to the others and it sounded ok. But im a perfectionist when it comes to my car and this will eat away at me in the back of my head. Will this eventually cause sound problems? Is there anything i can possibly do to fix this?
PLEASE HELP!
Thanx all, peace

You can replace the rubber surrounds with kits. That's when they are competely deterioriated, I'm quessing that with the glue and a small amount of the stuff/glue you could patch the rubber.

I did one better than that one time. I bought a brand new deck for my car and speakers. Wired up the back speakers to the amp, checked it out, all was good.
Then I went to wire up the front speakers to the amp, got in a hurry, mixed up the wiring and wired the speaker OUTPUTS from the amp back to the speaker outputs on the DECK. Needless to say the amp won the battle and forced wattage through the deck and blew it up.
Live and learn.....

Duct Tape will work fine if you really did puncture the surround. If it is only the out part which is glued to the frame then I don't think it'll matter. If Duct Tape is used to tape camanches then it's good enough for my speakers. But I know how yuo feel. The A-Holes at Circuit City pinched the surround on my Kappa Component Woofers.
