It wasn't hard.. The hardest part about it was the fact that I designed it on the fly. I know what I wanted it to look like in the end, but I never did sketch it or anything. I measured the car and such as I went.

I've had several people ask me to build them one.. I'm just waiting to get a couple of tools to make the process much easier on me. When I get the tools I need, I'm going to build myself another one just like it. The one you saw in the pictures has crooked cuts and bad routing and such.. I built it using just a few hand held power tools, a skill saw, jig saw, cordless drill (it's screwed together) and a dremel advantage (think rotozip).

I'm getting a real honest router, an air nailer and a table saw very soon. Probably in the next few weeks and will be able to build myself one that I can really be proud of. I am my own worst critic!

I live in Cookeville, TN.

Those are cooling fans actually. There are six of them total.

I run three on each end of the rack because when the glass is done, the rack will seal up and I don't want my amps getting hot.

If you look at the rack from the rear of the car, the fans on the end of the rack where the cd changer is (driver's side) all blow air into the rack, and the fans on the end closest to the amps (passenger side) blow air out. This way I can get the warmer air out of the rack faster.

The fans move so much air that you can literally feel the breeze when sitting in the front seat and the fans are running. You can feel the air moving on your cheek.

It's nice and innovative, but it looks too much like a giant toaster oven.

At least it's a 1500w RMS Toaster Oven

When I get my table saw and a real router, I plan to rebuild it. Also, when I can get the two glass pieces done, it will look a lot better and less like a " giant toaster oven ".
