listen to this sweet story

ok last week i ordered a monster cable clamp through parts direct for the positive top post of my battery that fits 2' 4 gauge inlets and 1' 8or10 gauge inlet.i need the clamp cuz im upgrading my alternator to a 200 amp one and need to upgrade the ground and output wire to 4 gauge.so yesterday the package came i open it up and its a negative clamp!i was pretty pissed so i called them up and was like you sent me the wrong one.so the dude was like you know what keep that one and i ll ship out the positive clamp right away.i couldnt believe it.so now i got a free neg battery clamp that looks sweet.its gold plated witht the monster cable plastic thing on top.the only thing is, do i have any use for it?like what can i hook up to the negative clamp?i plan on throwin in a system in my Z i already got a 12 rockford sub waiting in my room for a box and amp, but what can i hook up to the negative clamp?thanks all

Use that nifty battery clamp to run a new big fat ground cable to the chassis of the car.

An amp usually only connects to the positive on the battery.

the extra negative wire connections can be used to add more batteries to give the system more overal staying power.

Yep. Ground wire is just as important as power wire. Don't forget that. They a nearly the same..... can't have one without the other. Like peas and carrots! Use the same gauge ground wire as your power wire.

yea i think thats what im gonna do change the ground wire to 4 gauge but how do i do it.just cut off the stock ground wire and follow it.i think it goes ontop of the pass wheel well in that red plastic thing.then hook 4 gauge wire to the clamp and connect it to the same place?

Uhm.... I don't know if you should be doing this... nothing personal but you really don't seem like you know about this stuff and I don't want you burning anything up...

The Red plastic box on the fender is NOT the ground....

There should be a cable from your alternator to your battery, from your battery to your starter, and from your battery to that little red box. Those are all Positive.

Then from the negative side of the battery it should go to the frame-rail I believe.

Doesn't the red box have a "+" sign on top of it???? Check again. I'm sure the negative wire coming off the battery doesn't run there. And I wouldn't cut off the stock wire. Just add the 4 gauge, no reason to cut the old one.
