lights in head unit dying out?

lights in head unit dying out?

probably for as long as i've had my 97 with a stock head unit the seek and the 2 and 5 pre set buttons have not been lit...now a few days ago my 1 and 4 pre set buttons went out...is there any way to fix this (besides buying a new head unit)? thanks

My radio is like that in the Camaro I just got. I'm just going to replace it. For the money of a factory one on ebay you're better off going with an aftermarket headunit

stuff is most likely goin out inside of it, probably the bulbs/LED's. just try to find a good used aftermarket CD player for sell, you can pick up a nice one for under $50

yea i figured that would be the case...just thought maybe there was a connection that commonly came lose that i could fix or something..thanks

It's just light bulbs going out, no LEDs to bother with. They can be replaced, but they are soldered in and are a PITA to get to. They can be replaced with a 12V vary low current light bulb from Radio Shack, just watch the size.
