Large Door Speakers?

Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has 8" speakers in their 4th gen doors? I have a set of Pyle 8" coaxials that need a home. I know, Pyle? Had these in my boat with 75w behind each one and they seriously rocked. Seriously! My friends could not believe it either.
I also have an old pair of 6.5 Boston Acoustics Pro components if all else fails.
Anyways, it looks like with a homemade template, a larger speaker could be dropped in. Anyone?

Also, I have a convertible, anybody have speakers bigger than 6.5 in the rear?
Any stealth sub boxes using the rear seat back as part of the enclosure? I have a pair of 8" CDT M80s subs that need very little cabinet volume and am thinking of incorporating the fold down rear seat back to house the box. The subs would be behind the fabric. Nobodys ever in the back seats anyway. Pics would be great if you have them. Thanks for your help!

I know on the front side the door panel is a very tight fit between speaker and panel, so you would have to cut the other way. It might be possible, I would be more concerned on clearing the window and track. I wouldnt bother especially with Pyle but to each his own.

Thanks chevy, I will look to see if the window will clear. As for the speakers being Pyle, if I wasn't so impressed by them, I would not even consider using them either. With an amp behind them, the low end is pretty good, good enough that I may not need subs. When my boat dealer recommended them I thought he was crazy but after listening/having them installed, I'm convinced they are a "best buy" for the $90 I paid for them.
Anyone else have oversized speakers in the doors or a stealth sub box for a convertible?? Please share the knowledge...

i have 8" in my doors but i have a thirdgen and it required custom pannels however the base model mold for my fiberglass door pannel was the front section of a 4thgen door pannel that obviously was modified to fit a 8". it definately sounds great.

good luck!
