keyless problems...

first of all one of my keyless entry remotes doesnt work at all and the other works sometimes when im 6 inches from the door...i replaced the batteries and that did nothing...do these things break or is something else wrong? obviously i do not want to go to the dealer and pay them to rape me in the ***. anyone know how much new remotes cost? i dont actually have an alarm just the horn so would it be better to just get an aftermarket alarm with new remotes? last question...since my remotes dont really work i tried unlocking the door with the key and shortly after the horn goes off...why can i not use the key with out the alarm going off?

sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance

First, take your remotes apart (like changing the battery) and use a pencil eraser to clean the area where the buttons make contact to the board. If this doesn't work then I'd think its time for new remotes.

Second, the OEM alarm is set to have a delay when you use keys to open the doors. Check your owner's manual, it has all the details.

www.remotesunlimited.com This is where i get mine from. You can give them a call or if you can find the FCC ID# on the remote you can find it yourself.
