Keyless entry not working

I changed the battery in my remote and it still won't work. Is there any fuses for this or anything I should try before blowing a bunch of money?

Open the key fob up and clean it. Use q-tip and alcohol or electronics cleaner. You'll be able to see the contact points. Sometimes that works.

Re: Keyless entry not working

I was looking for replacement keyless entry remotes not too long ago and I found a site that had them for $29.99 for my Camaro.

I had them delivered in less than a week and the programming instructions only took maybe 10 seconds?

Anyways, here's a link to the site:

Just click the Chevrolet category, or type CAMARO in their search box.

The key fob is the plastic piece that houses the transmitter. It's the piece with buttons on it.

Ok well, got a new key fob and tried to program it and it is still not working. Is there some kind of receiver in the car that can crap out? I am really getting annoyed having the alarm go off every time I unlock the door with the key.

Re: Keyless entry not working

I believe on the 96-up camaros the keyless is part of the BCM which is behind the passenger kick panel.

Re: Keyless entry not working

I'd like to know how to determine if it's the transmitter or receiver.
