Keyless entry help please???
Does anyone know if the procedure for programming keyless entry on a camaro is the same as a chevy avalanche truck. Just thought I'd check with you guys because my sister is getting ready to spend 25 bucks at the dealership getting it done. Thanks for any help, Justin
To Program a 95 Camaro Keyless Entry --
I just got done figuring out how to wire the Keyless Entry System from a 95 Z28 into my 84 Berlinetta. I had to figure out the programming procedure as well so I'll tell you how it's done:
1) gain access to the Data Link Connector plug under the drivers side of the dash.
2) locate Terminal 8 -- & it's on the top right side of the DLC plug ( BLACK & WHITE wire) .
3) using a piece of spare wire - stick one end in terminal 8 & the other end to body ground. (Or Simply ground # 8 to # 4 terminals on the DLC)
4) You will hear the locks cycle thru a system check. This confirms that the system is in "program" mode.
5) Press ANY button on the transmitter ONCE. The receiver will cycle the door locks to acknowledge that the signal was received.
6) If programming 2 transmitters - repeat step 5 using the second transmitter.
7) Disconnect wire from #8 terminal and body ground (or terminal 4) and check for proper operation of the system.
The local Pontiac Dealership shop wanted $45 to connect a wire from #8 to #4 and press a button !!! Needless to say, I did it myself & took the wife out to eat instead !!!
Hope this helps !!
