Keyless entry acting up
Keyless entry acting up
Alright when I first got this car the remote did not work and I assumed the batteries were dead. I replaced the batteries and tried it but it didn't work right away. I tried it again and all the buttons worked a few times and then it wouldn't work again. Now if I'm right next to drivers door it will work 85% of the time. What is wrong with my remote, or is it something in the car if so what is it and how can I fix it?
Try cleaning the contact points inside the key fob. Take note of how the rubbery piece fits inside the plastic shell. Some people use a pencil eraser to clean the contact points. Alcohol and a q-tip work well. I use electronic parts cleaner on mine. Have to clean it about every 6 months.
I checked my remote and everything looks clean. I was wondering if there is a transmitter in the car and if could go bad? Where can I get a replacement and where is it located in the car?
