The JL Stealth box is too shallow for the W7.

hi,
i figured it would have been, anyone heard there in a camaro period?in a custom box or something,i dont know why my 2 10's didnt sound as good,or loud,i mean my 10's wasn't exactly "cheap" when i bought them,i know the jl is a lot better sub and all,but still one 8 completely blows my 2 10's out,im think of getting a 10 or a 12 in a custom built fiberglass box little larger to fit in the back side hole,

ive heard a 8 w7 in the factory ported box in a camaro. the red and black box thats shaped like and eyeball. oh boy was that loud. being that i wanted to run the stealth box to fix my t-tops in the trunk, i just bought the box and put in a audiobahn flameQ sub. the w7's magnet doesn't allow it to fit in a stealth box, the biggest would be the w6. i would highly recomend the w7. if not, i would recomend an audiobahn.

subthump creates a passenger side stealth that will fit a 10w7 i believe.

I seriously wish I could answer this for you. I bought a 10w7 and Steve from Subthump made me a custom box that fit in my well just for this application. The problem with the 10w7, is the mounting depth. You will not find a stealth box that can properly mount this sub. As soon as I get my system installed, hopefully soon, I will get back to you. Just a single 10w7, JL Audio 500/1 amp, Pioneer deh7500mp headunit, and probably infinity kappas if i can get a thumbs up from people in here on those particular speakers. You're going to lose a significant amount of trunk space if you want to go with a w7 but I have no doubt in mind that it would be worth it.

hi,
thanks for the response's,the kid also had the red and black box in his jetta, very nice sounding system for 1 8 inch, how much is the box gonna run you?i would really like to hear your results on it,i used to have 2 12" jo audio w 0, "i think, maybe w1 cant remeber, older subs, they sounded pretty nice as good in the back of the camaro,i cant figure out why my perfect's didnt slam as good as the other's,my buddy had a 200 s-10 extreme, and put 1 polk momo 10 in it,with a "Pgold 600 ti to power it,it blew my 2 10's out also,i dont know,
anyways i just bought his truck off him,had another questionabout amp selection,i have a comp. set im putting it,and also want to add a 10 inch behind drivers seat, probably another polk momo....400 rms, singe 4 ohm, comp. is infinity reference 6.5,could i buy let's say a 800.4 rockford fosgate, and bridge two channels to power the one sub,and use other two to runthe component's???would the sub have the right ohm's for something like this,if not what should i look for to make this work,if it can work at all,i dont have much room behind the seat, that why i want to do this thanks alot.
