issues with stock 94 bose system?

noe even if i remove my bose amps i was told i would still get the raspy sound from the speakers at low volume or high since i have a ftermarket deck amping them with there amps. but it makes no sense if i don't use the bose amps why would the speakers still not be clear?

Re: issues with stock 94 bose system?

I don't know if they still do or not but Bose used to use low impedance speakers. If they are well below the industry standard of 4 ohms your HU won't be able to power them. They might work at low volume levels but once you start to crank up the volume your HU won't be able to deliver enough current to power the speakers. You'll either get bad sound and/or your HU will go into protection mode and shut down.
