With my radar detector, I ran the wiring through the dash. My radar detector is upside down and held in place by the vent on the right side of the guage cluster. To do this, I just simply removed the suction cups, bent the mount to the curve of the vent and wedged it in between the part of the vent that moves and the rest of the housing. Then I pushed the power wire through the vent and plugged it in. Its really hard for me to explain how it is withouut pics. Maybe you guys understand what I'm saying. Anyways in order to hide all the wire, I had to take out the bottom piece of the dash, center console, the radio bezel, vent, and the top piece of the dash. In all it took about 45 mins to complete. Originally I wanted to install it like people do with the scan masters but it ended up to be too thick and I improvised.

mine is mounted in center of windshield about 2 inches from the dash......wire goes right behind dash where it meats the windshield all the way to the fuse box......

buddies is mounted up high right by rear view mirror...wire tucked in under ceiling liner all the way to fuse box

Mine is the best idea of all.. its wireless.. I couldn't resist.

Anyway, Beltronics makes a good wireless one, so that solved me having to hide a wire.
