Arrow I want a system that will pound

From experience - tell me what will pound in my car as far as 2 12" subs and what amp to use. Give me some brands and model numbers if possible.

To date i've had:
Audiobahn 1251 subs
Crunch fatboy subs
American Pro subs
each setup with a Lanzar Vibe 800 watt amp.

I need a new setup, please help.
Thanks,
Troy.

Good answer. If you've got some serious cash laying around, check out the Adire Brahma subs. But for the budget, it's hard to beat what Chameleon said. And don't forget the box because it's important too.

Would that beat a pair of rockfords then?
The subs look kinda cheap/generic.
Have you guys used them / heard them before?

Depends on what model of Rockfords you're comparing them to. For the money, I would take a pair of shivas over most or maybe all Rockford subs. The thing about shivas is that they need a larger box. If you give them 1.5 cubes each, look out. Rockfords can play in a slightly smaller box.
The Brahmas as I mentioned before are in a league of their own. Right up there with the W7.

Sweet. Now would an 800 watt or 1000 watt lanzar vibe amp push 2 of those?
And megabass - I've talked to you about getting a box from you - unfortunately the insurance isn't paying but i'm working on the funds for it - would your box be big enough for these subs?
Thanks for your help!

800 watts will be plenty I'd say. They'd hammer for sure. I've got a customer hitting 147 dbs with 750 watts, my box and two alpine 12s. Another thing you could look into is getting a pair of used JL12Ws. Those are still nice, then you could upgrade as you get the funds. I happen to know someone in anderson who may have a pair for sale. If you want, I can check.

Which model number of JL12Ws were you looking at?
I'm trying to find a pair off of ebay.

12W3s or 12W6s will work. Don't bother with W0s. They won't hold up to that power.

Can you find out if your friend in Anderson has the JL12W's for sale, which one's they are, and how much he wants for them?
I'm liking the new t-top box man - think I might go with that.
Do the t-tops just lay down into the hole then?

I put in an e-mail to him about the subs. And yes, the tops kinda rest on the edge of the well piggy-back style.

Troy,

He told me $275 for the pair of 12W3s. They are about 6months old I beleive. That's kinda high IMO considering you can find them for $150 on ebay.

Yeah, I noticed the prices on ebay.
So what do you think, go with some Adires or JL's?
Which JL's should i get, the 3's or 6's?

I'd get W3s IMO. W6s were meant to be used in 3s. I believe they are 6ohm subs. The W3s will be easier to wire and get the impedence you want.

But Shivas vs 12W3s..Shivas are a tad better and maybe less expensive. But you will need my larger deeper box for them. If you get the JLs then you can get by with my standard box.
