i gotta a cd player and it skips.. anyway to stop it?

i gotta a cd player and it skips.. anyway to stop it?
i got a cd player from someont that i bought a full system from and if i hit a bump etc. the cd will skip. Is there anyway to fix it? or is it pretty much trash? its a sony cd player model cdx-f5705x

take it back out place it under one of your wheels and bring it to a quick end!
