Talking I don't know anything help me!

I'm looking into trickin the stereo in my S-10 out. I was wonderin how this tri-way amp stuff works. And how much RMS power is being put out when in this 'tri-way' mode. This is the amp I'm talking about... http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=1&cc=01&avf=Y I'm set on kicker so don't try and change my mind

And these are the subs I want to get(2) http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=1&cc=01&avf=Y Should I get dual 2-ohm, or dual 4-ohm?

I was wondering if I had that amp in tri-way, if I could power 2 subs and then use the 3rd channel for 2 front speakers. I'm going to have those 2 subs behind my seats(reg cab)and then get those kick panel kits and stick 6 1/2's in them with tweeters. Then just get rid of the factory speakers, and get creative covering up where they used to be. What do you guys think? Thanks!

For some reason the links aren't working for me. But I think I can help anyway. I assume that you are looking at a Kicker 4-channel amp? And you are looking to run it in 3-channel mode? Ok, first, you will want the dual 4 ohm version of the subs. Wire the voice coils together in parallel and then wire the subs together in series. This will present your amp with a 4 ohm load. Which is what's need when you bridge two channels of an amp together. And you have your set-up backwards. Run your two front speakers of the two front channels on the amp. Then use the bridged rear channels for the subs. Lemme know if you have any questions.

The amp says...

150 watts x 4 at 2 ohms
300 watts x 2 in bridged mode

How many watts will be shot at the subs, and then the front channels? They are upto 200w RMS subs and I wanted to have all that 200. Thanks again!

Sketchy

You'll be getting 75Wx2 for the front channels and 300Wx1 bridged into 4ohms for the sub setup. You'll want your subs to equal 4 ohms when all connected. Don't be so closed minded you'll miss alot of great products . And Don't get 8" subs, those are for doors . I personally would go with Alpine Type-S for that price, I'm just not impressed with the new Kicker subs. Both of those brands require a bit too much space IMO for a truck. If you can manage a bit of extra scratch I'd go with (2) eDesign 10K.44. They are definately superior to both of those that have been mentioned and they work stellar in a .5 cu. ft. enclosure, which will prevent alot of headaches for you.

But both requireThe amps are still a great priduct if not a little BIG and bulky. You could run two subs with 4ohm Dual voice coils and wire them in a series/parrallel arangement.

And for the love of all that is holy don't buy from Crutchfield. You can get much better prices.
