How to finish an MDF box so that it can be painted/cleared in automotive grade paint
I recently picked up a box where the top (the area you see) was covered in vinyl, which looks fine, but I want to have it painted/cleared in automotive grade paint so that it matches my car. After removing the vinyl, it appears to be made up of mdf or some other type of plywood. How can I finish this so that it can be sprayed and come out looking good.
Also, is this something I can spray with a can, clearcoat with a can, and have it comming out looking good?

Anytime i need to paint something, i usually just go over it with a few coats of fiberglass resin. It'll sand down perfect and paint great
If you want a pro paint job, go to someone with the tools/knowledge.
Rattle cans aren't the best, but if it's something you just want to make presentable, it'll just require a steady hand and some sanding/polishing.
