How does this look...?
I posted a long while back about some suggestions on building a system. I know some of these parts are probably a little older now but the prices are very good. So far all I've purchased are the Alpine SPR-176 Type-R components. The rest is:
JBL 300.1
JBL 80.2
Alpine Type-S 10" SWS-1041D
Rear speakers will be removed and left empty.
I plan on getting the amp rack and driver's side stealth box from subthump.
How does that set-up look? I know I could go with something better (= more expensive) but this is within my budget. Also, I shouldn't have to worry about it drawing too much power, will I?
Thank you very much guys! I've put off this audio project for a while and finally got some extra $$$ to go through with it.

Yeah, your components will sound so much cleaner if you get a good aftermarket deck instead of the stock one. It'll look good if you hide all the wiring behind the rack. Nice and clean.
I know, I realized afterwards that it would have been more appropriate to use "sound" instead of look. Or even "How does this set-up look"...eh, you guys knew what I meant.
I don't have the stock deck, I replaced that with a Rockford RFX 8210. Not sure how good it is, I bought it a while back just to get a CD deck in. If needed, I can buy a new HU too.

Sounds like it will be a nice clean sounding setup. The sub should sound nice with 300W running to it. I've installed a set of those components and they sound prety good, they should sound nice with 40W RMS to each side. You might want to upgrade to a new HU later on but for now that one is fine. If you like it and it works well stick with it but if you want something a little newer with mp3 compatibility you might want to look at an alpine unit.
And as always, you need a good install to take advantage of your equipment. Things like wiring, gain and crossover settings and enclosure size will make or break your system.

I was looking at the Alpine 9807. I can get a pretty good deal on it from my friend...it has gotten pretty good reviews and is mp3 compatible.
If I decide to go with rear fills...I would need a new amp (the 80.2 wouldn't work)?
