If you can get the proper sized box for the sub in your car it will work fine.

I don't follow you. Subs (home or car) don't run on DC voltage.

What he's saying is that your sub is powered by wattage not voltage. Watts are produced by the amplifier. A home stereo amp uses a/c to produce watts, whereas a car amp uses dc to produce watts. So in your sub's case, ac vs. dc has no bearing

Umm.....forgive me if I am wrong here for I will sound pretty stupid, but most home speakers are 8 Ohms where as most car speakers are either wired at 2 or 4 ohms depending on the application. Not sure how the home sub would work.I've seen it done before but they always end up blowing before to long.

That's true. It probably is an 8 ohm sub, but it will still work. Not ideal, but will work. Add another 8 ohm sub and that'll knock it down to 4 ohms.

Thanks Steve,I wasn't exactly sure how that would work.Didn't even think of adding a second sub to knock it down to 4 ohms

Ya LanceJoker you are correct. The sub is 8ohms. Running two of them together to make 4ohms is outa the question, cause the sub is 15". I'll just have to wire it so its running on 8ohms. Thanks guys.
