HELP! Rear speakers dont work

I just finished installing my cd player. When I first turned it out static was coming from the right rear but nothing from the left rear. A couple seconds later nothing came from the right rear either. The front speakers work fine. I have checked and checked and checked the rear speaker wiring and everything seems to be right. Could the rear speakers be blown? Someone please help me!

I dont know if they worked before because I just bought the car a couple months ago and it did not have a radio or the original harness.

I spliced into the factory wiring since when I bought my car it did not have a radio or harness. So I just wired the cd player harness directly to the wires. Is that a bad thing?

Yeah I made sure the wires are wired to the right ones. Even checked twice. I went to www.installdr.com to get the wiring right.

Is there any way to tell if a speaker is blown?

So just wire the front wires to the rear ones? Also if the wires are touching even if they are taped that will affect them?

Update: I checked out the speakers today to check the connections and everything looked good. I played around with the connection of the right rear because It did work for a couple seconds when I first turned the cd player on and I got the speaker to work if I held the plug in a certain way. I played around the left rear and had no luck. I then moved the right rear speaker over to the left and it also worked there if I held the plug a certain way. If I dont hold it a certain way it will start to hear a little static. I moved the left rear to the right but the speaker still didnt work.

So I am thinking I have one blown speaker. How come the speaker will only sound good if I hold the plug a certain way?

which plug are you talking about, maybe I missed that part, I had a DEH 2300 'til some punk stole it..
I bought one of the factory adapter plugs, so I didn't have to butcher my harness. Every wire was color coded to radio & car, it was just "plug & play"...
