Help Please Ordered Wrong Sail Pannel Sub!!

Hello, i ordered part # 9365799 from GM parts direct that is the replacement 6.5 inch sub woofer for the sail pannel...but it wont work due toi the plug being 4 prongs instead of 2. I have a 98 Camaro SS with the monsoon system. And now i cant put the friggin original woofer back in beacuse the screws have a plastic piece that goes behind the slot where the screw mount is so that you are able to screw it in place. But i cant get my hand behind there to make the piece fit then feed teh screw through the slot on the sub then put that threw as well. Anyone know how to make these fit? They are the same size and everything its just the plug is wrong, on my woofers it has a 2 prong insert that goes into the sub, on this sub it has a 4 prong. What should i do?

is p# 10447249 the one i want? i am going to try to return the woofers to gm parts direct...but if they dont take them back is there anyway i can make it so that these will adapt to the 2 prong connector set up? If you click on http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm
you will see that there are 2 red and 2 black wires comeing off of the sub and into the connector. My connector piece is just 2 wires going to the sub and a 2 prong connector. Is there a way to make them adapt? or am i just f#cked?

I think you got the sub off of a Firebird then. If anything, call your dealership tommorow and ask. They can tell you the right one. If not, then just get some Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2 subs that would blow the stock away.

Yeah thats what i think as well. Or it could be a 2000+ version didnt the 2000+ get like a 500 watt amp? Could be meant for that. I got the subs off gm parts direct.com Is there anyway i can take the connector off my old woofer and put it on this one? I dont think it is possible but its worth a shot i guess. I wrote numerous e-mails to gm parts direct customer service and hopefully they will give me the right answer. and for the money 70 bucks per sub, for the RF's i would wrather spend the 29 on a replacement and the rest on a stealth box.

Do the RF's sound good running off the head unit without an amp?

LTI4me--why don't you just return them and get the right ones? Maybe they'll take them back at a dealearship so you wouldn't have to ship them back?

Killer TA: Yeah they sound pretty good. My friend got a set. I am gonna save some cash so I can get a set of them.

I don't think GM parts direct takes back special order parts. The 2000+ did have the same connection for subs. I had the same problem when I had a 2000 Camaro. I remember seeing the clip with two connections only.

Well, i just e-mailed all my local GM dealers and asked if i could exchange them for the right ones. I also sent in a e-mail asking for a return label, i guess it takes them 48 hrs to decide if they want the item back or not. I looked at the connectors and there is now way i can make them work. On a good note i found out that my drivers side woofer still works, just barely but it still does so that takes care of it being an amperage problem like i originally thought. Does anyone have the correct part # for the 2ohm 6.5" woofers that i am supposed to have?

ok i found someone to buy these subs, but the one of the clips that hold the bolts in place fell into the wheel well and i cant get it. Now the sub razz's everytime i hit low bass...does anyone know where i might be able to get a replacement one? or if i could just use nuts and washers? The sound is just really annoying.
