Its my birthday and my brother works at circuit city, so my parents have agreed to get me a system.

This is what I currently have:
Sony CDX-M800 CD player. 52x4
4 Alpine type S speakers.

What I want:
I dont want anything that will really rattle my car apart and make my rear view mirror fall off. I just want something that will sound nice. My dad suggested one 10' sub and an amp. My brother said that one 10' sub wont do crap and that I should get 2 10's, and an amp. I saw on the net a long time ago boxes for subs that go in the trunk on the sides of the well that camaros have, because id really not like to lose all that much trunk space, so a link to those would be appreciated.

I just really need some input here, im new to all this system stuff and dont really understand it, I just want something that sounds nice. My brother has 2 12's and an amp and thats to much for me, thats why I want to go with either 1 10 or 2 10's. Thanks in advance.

 

Look at www.subthump.com for the stealth box, and I'd look at an Adire Audio Shiva. Find an amp that matches the RMS ratings and you're good to go.

That sub in that box will sound REALLY good for the price, and won't rattle the car apart if you don't turn it up to high.

 

Trust me, a 10 inch sub will do you real good. Look into JL AUDIO.

 

The Shiva is a 12" sub. Last time I checked, Subthump has stopped making the 12" driver's side boxes. So you will be forced to get the passenger side box. No biggie in my eyes, but you will have to lose the spare tire/jack. Watch the 8 ohm coils on the shiva. Another sub to look at for this box would be the Elemental Designs K-series. www.edesignaudio.com

 

I'm actually making them again. Just haven't posted the info yet. I wanted to wait until I got several stocked. A shiva wouldn't be a good choice in a stealth since it requires so much volume. I have a eD 13O on pre-order to put in my new 12" stealth. Supposed to work well down to .6 cu.ft and handle 900 watts rms. I'm anxious to hear how it sounds.

I have no idea, im trying to understand the watts and everything, just taking me some time.

 

all right yea i know yea it took me some time to understand you need to look for a orion h2 sub you can put between 1 watt to 10,000 watts but dont put 10,000 watts on it it sounds like crap and you can blow the sub you could put between 1000-5000 and you would be ok if you wont one hears the website

Read through the part about wiring your subwoofer to your amp. Megabass's stealth and an ED-O would be bada$$.

 

If you want to make sure the system sounds really good, lay down some dynamat or other sound deadening material on anything that rattles.
