Thumbs up Got my new Head Unit: Alpine CDA-9807 mini-review

Alpine CDA-9807
MP3 and WMA compatible
CD-R and CD-RW compatible
XM Ready

50 watts x 4
4V pre-outs (3 sets; separate subwoofer output)
Rotary volume control ****
"Media Xpander" feature (supposed to make low-quality compressed or broadcast music sound better)
Ai CD Changer control (also can use an adapter to use this as an input; a selling point for me since I can integrate it with my in-car PC project)
Removable faceplate, remote, etc.
Blue illumination
ATT/mute button

It typically sells for around $280, but I got it for $240 because the step-down model of this one (!mp3) that I was going to purchase for $199 wasn't in stock.

This is an EXCELLENT CD-player and I am VERY happy with it so far. Definitely worth the money. I'm still running the stock speakers (this is in my 95 Formula) and it really made a world of difference over the stock Delco unit. Does very good reading CDs; I haven't had it skip yet. Reads MP3 discs nearly instantly; there is no noticable loading time! Big thumbs up there. Just pop in an mp3 CD and it starts right up. Also displays CD text and reads ID3 tags, so you can have it scroll the song title, etc.

Thumbs up to Alpine for this one... anyone else have experience with this deck?
