Getting rid of stock stereo, need help!!!!

I'm getting a new stereo for my Transam. I have some questions I need answered.

1. Do I have Bose? I have a stock stereo with tape deck, it doesn't say Bose anywhere.

2. Should I buy a stereo that fills the whole gap or just get a regular size one? It seems I have more options with the smaller ones.

3. Will any stereo work with the steer wheel wire kit as long as it has a remote.

4. How do I wire the speakers since aftermarket stereos are 4 channel and our systems have 6 speakers?

5. Will a 52X4 stereo sound better than the stock unit?

6. How hard is it to wire the buttons on the steering wheel? Where can I buy the wire kit and how much do they cost?

I would suggest replacing your entire system if you can afford it. How much you looking to spend? Can you do the install yourself?

1. I don't think so
2. Small 1-din size have better options, and look just fine.
3. Yep!
4. Only wire up 4 speakers and sub, or just run fronts like me !
5. Any good external amp will sound better.
6. Not that hard to hook up at all.

Thanks for the reply. I can wire it myself but the place I'm buying it from will do it for free. I'll do the button kit myself. I think I'm going to keep all 6 speakers. I'm just going to replace the head unit for now, I have my money tied up in other places right now.
