Front Speaker help!

As a gift I recieved a set of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers, each of them are 100 watts @ 4 ohms.

I own a 98 coupe, so I pulled apart my passsenger door and found four wires to the speaker, after doing some research on this forum, a wiring schematic revealed that the green wires were the ones to use. So I wired them to the speakers, turned on the power and holy **** the volume they produced was so low. I compared it to the driver door speaker which was still stock, and easily, the stock speaker was 10x louder than than the RF.

Please help me, what am I doing wrong?
I do have the monsoon system in my car, and would like to keep it, because I really like the CD changer.

The problem is that the POS Monsoon system was designed using 2ohm speakers and not the industry standard 4ohm speakers. Since your new speaker is twice the impedance it only gets about half the power that the stocker is getting.

Trash the monsoon system. Use an aftermarket amp.

actually, LS1 already answered your question. If you have a monsoon system, stock speakers are 2ohm so since the RF are 4ohms, they are recieving half the power. Also keep in mind that the stock speakers aren't made to handle that much power. So if you put a speaker which is made to handle more power, like the RF you've got, it's not going to be any louder and possibly be not as loud as your current speaker. You're best bet is to amp em and they'll really scream.

I wasn't joking around or trying to be an a$$hole. I really meant that. Inorder to get sound from your new speakers, you will need an aftermarket amp.
