Fit? Polk db 651 or db 651S

I'm looking to buy a pair of door speakers and Polk is one of the top on my list. In Crutchfield it says the db 651 won't fit beacuse it dosen't have the height clearance. It says the db 651S will fit because it is shorter in height. The difference between the two is less power at a smaller frequency range. I'm asking if anyone fit a plain db 651 in there front door or even the rears. The spec sheet is the same at the Polk website.

ive put the regular 651's in with no problem. The only speaker i have worked with that had a problem in doors was the old alpine type r's.

I wonder why they say they won't fit? A mystery I guess. How do the Polks sound? What kind of setup do you have? I'm looking to get a well rounded speaker cause I'm not gonna use a sub. Do you think these have enough bass.

the polks have good midbass. if you want bass, you wont get it, but you get a good midbass.
