Final Pics Of My System Installed.

First off, here is the schematic of equipment used. The car has also now been fully deadened with Dynamat Extreme.

----------------------------------------------

Here are a couple shots of the front separates and head unit. The head unit really blends in well, better in person than in the photos. At first glance if one didn't know GM radios it could appear as a stock unit. The fit is perfect which is the main reason I went with this Pioneer.

----------------------------------------------

Here are the dual JL 6W0 6.5" subs mounted in the rear seat pillars in custom made sealed fiberglass enclosures. I swear that if you heard this system you would have no idea that there wasn't a 10 or 12 inch woofer hiding somewhere. These drivers have no problem pressurizing my cabin. I did not expect these to hit as hard as they do.

----------------------------------------------

Here is the back of the car. As you can see I lost very little space. The Pioneer 12 disk changer is where the factory changer is and the only added mass is the Alpine amp but it is in a spot that doesn't intrude at all. I can still carry all my luggage, stow my T-Tops, whatever I want. It's exactly what I wanted with this install. My spare tire, jack and tool kit is fully in tact. You can also see the grills for my 4" rear fill midranges. The sound is terrific but it does need final tuning yet. I'm very pleased! Thanks for looking.

I got the amp for $350, the head unit for $140, the CD changer for $110, the front separates for $250, the rear fills for $75, the subs for $130, install hardware $100, Dynamat $125. I did a lot of the work myself and had to pay to get some labor done, such as the fiberglass enclosures. Total labor I had to pay for was in the $400 range. So over all I have about $1600 in it. Not too bad.

Thumbs up

Wow, that looks pretty good. Nice job on the install, looks very clean.

I like the seats too, they match quite well. But that steering wheel, sorry, I'm not a fan.

You should feel that steering wheel and drive it. It's amazing how much more fun the car is to drive with a light, easy to grip small diameter steering wheel. I wouldn't go back to the old wheel for any amount of money.

Was that Dynamat or Dynamat Extreme? Also, what did you dynamat in the car? A $125 doesn't go to far when it comes to buying Dynamat, at least at the prices I've found it at. If you know of a place to get it at a great price please do share.

That was the whole car. I bought a big box off of ebay. ebay is always the cheapest place to get stuff. It was $97 for the box plus $25 shipping. I had a couple sheets left over from another car to make up the difference.

Where did you get that amp mount? Im looking to put 1 12'' in my car and I need a place to mount the amp, do you think it'd be dumb to buy a millhouse box for just one 12?

The amp mount is just a thin board mounted under the carpet with self tapping bolts. Then the amp is attached to the wood with the carpet in between. Was very easy.

I thought about doing a setup like that with the 6.5" subs, but was a little uneasy about using such a small driver. That looks pretty awesome, and if you say it sounds good then that setup looks like the ****.
