A few questions on a couple issues on a 95 bird

OK, first question, when my headlights go down the motors still run for 7 seconds and make a horrible grinding sound. A couple people have told me that the motors are bad, only thing is that lights come up and go down quickly. Second issue, warning lights on left side of dash come on and off as they please, low oil light, low coolant light, abs inop light, but oil and coolant levels are good, and abs works. Security light also stays on. Now a question on something that I am curious about- is there a way to have the headlights pop up only when they are on instead of popping up when parking lights are turned on. Thanks for any help.

First issue - motors are fine, plastic gears needs to be replaced with metal ones, another plastic ones or just put there backwards (temporary solution if I remember correctly)

anybody have any ideas about the dash light issues, I also noticed the other day that the parking brake light comes on when I start the car but not when the brake is on, ??? Does anyone know if there's a way to turn on parking lights without the headlights popping up? Thanks.

Just do a search for headlight fix. No clue on the lights, unless it could be a bad ground/loose connection.

got the headlight fix, metal gears off of ebay. I'll do some poking around and see about the ground. Anyone know about if there's a way the keep the headlights down with parking lights on and only come up when headlights are on?

When the gears are repaired, the headlights won't pop up when the parking lights are on.

I had issues with misc dash lights coming on. Checking the negative battery connection and ground wires to the chasis solved mine. Clean them up and tighten them down and maybe that will help.

That headlight issue is kinda weird, if I just turn my parking lights on, my lights don't come up; only if I turn on my headlights.

Do you have the auto-headlights? if you do, that maybe something with it.

It's the gear. I've been through it.

finally put the metal headlight gears in, solved issues with lights. Lights stay down now when I turn on parking lights. Alarm still arms itself when I hit unlock twice, and then disarms when I hit unlock again, and security light still stays on. Found an alarm brain in the center consol, anyway I can get rid of it without it messing anything up?
