I had my buddy's x50 in my 94 bird the other day, and every few minutes the laser detection alarm would start. I'm planning on getting the x50. I had the previous model before the bird was stolen and they got it/and the radio. But thats beside the point.

My older model when I honked my horn... laser detection alarm sounded. But only then. The x50 it does it every now and then while just driving around. I dont know what to relate it to, and just turn off the laser detection.

Anyone else have this issue?

 

Are you saying it just turns off when you are going down the road?


I also have that detector and it does the same thing. Normally whenever you pass a spot it will go off in almost the exact same spot.

I have read a number of things can set off the laser option. I've heard that some rail roads or trains can set it off and also some stuff on new cars if i remember correctly . I think it was those sensor in the back of some cars that tell you how far away you are from something but i don't really remember.

 

No while just normally driving the laser alarm will just start going off. Nothing at all around. Its damn annoying. And on my older model 8500 the laser alarm would go off when honking the horn!.

 

Well i don't know what you tell you. Mine goes off every now and then buts its normally around a certian area and there's train tracks around.

There is also MANY Things that can set the laser alarm off.
