Elemental designs sub/amp combo q's

Well, i heard ED is supposed to be putting out great stuff. So i looked in there combo deals and noticed this particular package:
1) 13Kv.2 Dual 2 + (1)eD NINe.2 Amplifier $250.00 Pre-Order* / Regular Cost $400.00 -
We recommend 1.0cF Sealed before displacement OR 1.5cF tuned to 30Hz for optimal results.

This is the amp: NINe.2 " $215.00* / MSRP $250.00-
100x2 @ 4 ohm, 150x2 @ 2 ohm, 400x1 @ 4 ohm

This is the 12" sub:13Kv.2 Dual 2 $125.00* / MSRP $145.00 -
150/550WRms. - 0.6/1.1cF Sealed - 1.2/1.5cF Vented

Does this sound like a decent combo? I realize that if i wanted to add another 12 it isnt gunna hit good but i think for now i am just gunna stick with the one. Has anyone else had experience with them? or this combo?

I personally own the 11KV2 and have it in a sealed box in my camaro and it hits quite hard. There amps are handmade and very nice, although I dont own one. I personally own a profile CL600M which is a cheap but good amp, nothin fancy. The deal is quite good in my opinion

Sounds like a nice combo...

I've got a pair 8" A-Series that I installed in my brother's truck that are amazing.

Re: Elemental designs sub/amp combo q's

Most HU's are alright for surround usage and the wattage ratings don't mean to much for raw HU's. I'm a Alpine fan myself, I've used them for years and they've always had a nice product.

The reason't I say that HU wattages don't matter much is because whenever you get the HU's amplifier to actually put out the "rated" wattage it's FULL of distortion and can/will wreck speakers.

To replace the HU you may need a PAC kit depending on what stock stereo is in there now.

Yeah i am gunna keep my stock HU in my camaro. And yes i will prob just splice the PAC into the HU on my maro. The reason i asked is because i want to be switching this sub/amp set up between cars. In my jeep i have a stock tape deck so i was just currious as to what would work best.

Oh dang! I forgot about that one, thats actually ED's old design 10. Still a very nice speaker, and thats what made me go back to Elemental for my new goodies.

Here is a good forum for discussing ED products

I dont have the #, but you can go to the icix sound forum, and ask there. The owner of ED frequents there, his name is ben (sn: kaosmoon). The guys from ED are allways looking to help.
