elemental design....good stuff??
i am considering buying some ED products. i was looking at the 130v.2 subs and the NIN3.1 amp. i want two 12 inch subs and this amp to power them. does this sound good? these aren't really expensive so i wanted to go this route over adire or resonant engineering for example.

On the flip side, I know they were dealing with suppliers who they could not count on to deliver the parts they needed. Hence the end of the flat cone. I've ran into times when my suppliers were out and couldn't get certian materials and that's no fun being caught in the middle. So I can see it from both ends.
Not only from a business standpoint, but as a customer too. I had my 130v2s on pre-order for 8 months before I got them (I'm a patient person). At any time I could have gotten refunded as the guys were very good to deal with, but that gave me the reassurance to stick with them. But I didn't pester them too much or go on a forum and say bad things about them either. I'm sure they were doing their best. I waited patiently for my subs and I'm glad I did because I really like them and I don't think anything else would have made me any happier for that price. I'm pretty sure they are caught up right now and and are able to send things out much faster. I'm sure they learned a few things from those experiences.
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
I waited months for my kv2 as well which was well worth it. They are great ppl to deal with very down to earth just call with questions... you wont be disappointed
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
well the subs are on back order right now and i don't want to wait months. two weeks is fine but not months. is there any other subs out there that will outperform these for the price? i currently have alpine type R's and i want my new subs to be better than these. thanks for the replys.
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
well they are saying one and a half months minimum on the subs. i think i will try to find something else. any suggestions will be great. i am willing to spend a little more if need be. i wish there was something inbetween the elemental design and the adire brama subs. i still think i will go with the NINe.1 amp.

To the poster...
You say you have Type R's, what don't you like about them? Also what type of box, what amp are you using, and how many subs? The Type R's are some great SQL subs. Maybe you just need to make a box just built for that sub, or get more power to it to get what you want out of it. I've played around with Type R's for years, and many of my buds have them or install the hell out of them. They are very impressive woofers, and are waaay too cheap for what they are capable of doing. They will handle double their RMS rating for daily driving, and I've seem them take over 4,000 watts for burps.

Re: elemental design....good stuff??
well a buddy wants to buy the alpine subs off of me so i told him i would sell them. i run an alpine amp. i can actually bottom the subs out with the amp i run. the box isn't exactly made for these subs. it is a little too big. it is around 2.5 cubic feet for two 12's. heck if i ported it they may sound better.
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
I like their stuff. They have always been very helpfull to me.
Jeremy one of the techs helped me out bigtime. The only thing that sucks is if you like something it is almost always on Back Order. I got a 13KV D2 and i had to wait since january. But they were nice enough to give me a loaner one until my D2 came.

Re: elemental design....good stuff??
i ended up ordering an ED NIN2.1 amp. i will be running two resonant engineering SX subs with it. it may not have quite enough power for what those subs want but i don't want to buy another amp. the amp already came in but the subs probably won't be here for another 3 weeks. i wasn't going to wait but it appears i don't have a choice. resonant engineering actually doesn't even make the subs until you order them so that is why it will take a while. i think my setup will fit me just fine.
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
RE makes some good stuff. I was first thinking of going with them till I heard the wait time. Another thing that turned me off is if you have a audio shop that sells RE you have to go through the audio shop and you can't buy directly from RE, which is dumb. I believe I have a shop that sells RE like 43 miles from me so that means I would have had to buy from them.
Re: elemental design....good stuff??
i ordered directly from RE. i called them up and asked if they accepted money orders. they said yes but it will take like 3 weeks for me to get the subs. they first need to get the money order, then they process it, then they make the subs, then they ship them out. i paid $540 shipped for two 12 inch SX subs...
