driver side window is shot!

driver side window is shot!

my driver side window wont go up or down anymore. how do i know if its the motor, regulator or buttons. all other things work from the driverside button cluster. and the window makwes no sound or nothing when the button is pushed. it will go down maybe an inch if i push the button and then it goes no further. anyone got any suggestions! thanks

most likly the motor. had the same thing to me. try removing the switch cleaning it and putting it back on, but it probably the motor

most commonly, it is the motor. Verify there is power and ground to the motor. You could fix it yourself. You need a "bigger than normal" rivet gun to install the new rivits. The biggest problem I have is adjusting the damn thing so it seals properly again.

you dont need a rivet gun you can use nuts and bolts i dont remember where i found the instructions but you can drill three holes into the metal inner door panel and then drill out the rivets switch the motors and bolt them into place.

I need to adjust mine to seal properly also. I replaced the window and the motor at the same time. (broken bracket on the rear track)

You can find the full window motor replacement writeup on this site. It's really not that hard. If I was just replacing the motor, I'd say it was in and out within an hour, including the door panel R&R.
